Special Olympics University Project (2001-2003)FACTS • 50 professors from 33 Universities • 1500 students participated in SO/APE courses/specialization • 2000university students involved in SO activities as volunteers • 200 local and regional SO events • 5000 SO athletes took part in the SO events organized in colaboration with University

Special Olympics University Project for Balkans Region in 2003-4 • Seminar in Ljubljana, Slovenia (2003): 13 university rep • Follow-up Seminar in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (2004): 11 university repr. • Partnership with 7 universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, FYR Macedonia, Serbia & Montenegro, Slovenia, Romania

SO University Project Seminars –2004-2010 • Predeal, Romania- 18 professors from 11 Physical Education and Sports High Schools • Sofia, Bulgaria – 30 professors from University of Sofia and National Sports Academy • Follow up Seminar during SO Friendship Games in Constanca, Romania • Vienna de Castello, Spain – 15 professors trained during Spanish National Games • Paris, France – 12 professors trained at the University X in Nanterre

Special Olympics University Initiative SOEE Goal: Recruit 40,000 new athletes in Europe by 2015 SOEE University Initiative Goals by 2015: • Include Special Olympics in 100 university physical education programs • Develop Special Olympics university curriculum & resource materials • Train 5,000 university students through: • Special Olympics course • Special Olympics training seminar or workshop • Students organize and conduct 200 Special Olympics campus events
