  3. Attitudes Toward Ourselves Humility – Romans 12:3,16 John 13:6-17 Matthew 25:21 Teachability- Proverbs 15:31,32 Includes: Eagerness to Learn & Grow Ability to learn from correction, profit from advice & criticism

  4. Attitudes Toward Ourselves Honesty Toward Our Mistakes – Willingness to Admit Our Mistakes James 5:16 “confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” Willingness to Correct Them – people who learn from their mistakes

  5. Attitudes Toward Our Brethren Love – John 13:34,35 “love one another; as I have loved you” 1 Peter 1:22,23 “love one another fervently with a pure heart.” IF we truly Love One Another, What could possibly keep us from working together?

  6. Attitudes Toward Our Brethren Cooperation – 1 Corinthians 12:21 “the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of you” We need to be able not only to work, but to work together!

  7. Attitudes Toward Our Brethren Appreciation for others & their work – 1 Corinthians 1:14 1 Thessalonians 5:12,13 “Expressing appreciation is like grease on the gears of a machine.. It makes others do their work much better!”

  8. Attitudes Toward Our Brethren Submissiveness- Submit to one another – Ephesians 5:21 Submit to Those in Positions of Leadership- Hebrews 13:17

  9. Attitudes Toward Our Brethren Peaceableness- Romans 14:19 – Not stirring up STRIFE, but seeking PEACE! Ephesians 4:1-3 Matthew 5:9 James 3:17,18

  11. Attitudes Toward Our Brethren Warmth, Friendliness, Openness- Acts 2:44-47 “had all things in common” Acts 11:27-30 “determined to send relief to the brethren dwelling in Judea”

  12. Attitudes Toward Our Brethren Gentleness, Meekness- Galatians 6:1 “overtaken in any trespass… restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness…” 2 Timothy 2:24-26 “gentle to all”

  13. Attitudes Toward Our Brethren Forgiveness, Forbearance, Patience, Longsuffering- Ephesians 4:2 Ephesians 4:32 “kind to one another… forgiving one another”

  16. Attitudes Toward Our Work Initiative- willingness to do what is right without having to be prodded Philippians 2:12 Philippians 1:27,28 When you see something to be done, don’t criticize, energize!

  17. Attitudes Toward Our Work Positiveness- Philippians 2:14 “Do all things without complaining and disputing.” The Chronic Complainer & Negative Thinker are obstructions to the work of a congregation.

  18. Attitudes Toward Our Work Persistence- John 4:34 Hebrews 6:11,12 2 Timothy 4:7 Ecclesiastes 10:10 “wisdom brings success”

  19. These Attitudes Will Help the Cause of Christ in Any Congregation 2 Timothy 2:21 “a vessel for honor, sanctified & useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.”

  20. Are We Developing the Right Kind of Attitudes That Prepare us for the Work of the Lord?
