  3. Why too many words are too wordy • Errors are distracting • Readers focus on distractions • Distractions interrupt the stream of thought • Managers are busy • Need to scan and get to the point quickly • Writing is a reflection of the writer

  4. Writing clearly and concisely • Use simple words - easier to understand • Use jargon only with a homogeneous group • Use active voice • Fewer words • More lively sentences • Eliminate redundancy and repetition  • Eliminate wordiness and extra words and phrases 

I am planning on personally interviewing Dr. Smith because he is the only person that works in administration at Winthrop University who knows how to answer each and every one of my questions, and he is also the only person in administration that, although he doesn’t have a lot of authority, can, in my personal opinion, give me the best answers so that I can take my project up to the next and highest level in hopes of it being a success for me and for them.

  11. I plan to interview Dr. Smith because he is the administrator who can give me the best answers to achieve a successful outcome for all affected.
