  2. Charges • Hold exhibitions (exhibition room, Physics open day, 1-day exhibition) • Provide posters (bought or home-made) • Organize public lectures • Social and students activities (retiring staff party, A+ party, beach party) • Advertise for physics department • Hosting school visits • Faculty visiting schools

  3. Charges • Sky Seeing • Friends of the Physics Department Database • Collaboration with SPS • The Prospective Physicist Contest

  4. Accomplishments • A+ Students Party • Physics Open Day • Public Lectures • Sky seeing event • Schools visits to the Department • Faculty visiting the School

  5. Accomplishments 7. The Friend of the Physics Department Database was continuously updated and most important news and events were regularly communicated. 8. The Demo room was regularly maintained. New demos have been ordered and some new demos, made by the faculty, have been introduced in to the demo room. 9. The first issue of the Student magazine is ready for publication.

  6. Difficulties • Lack of availability of volunteers • Lack of participation of the faculty in social events; such as picnic and desert trip • 3. Demos missing in the Demo room.

  7. Recommendations • The exhibition hall needs to be equipped with a PC loaded with applets, electronic simulations …etc. • The demo room should be no non-PDAC access area and there should be a log on mechanism to keep track of the demos. • Faculty members should continue to visit the exhibition hall, from time to time, in order to refresh their experience with the different demonstrations. When needed, PDAC should arrange special sessions for this purpose.

  8. Recommendations • PDAC should concentrate on orientation students and work hard to recruit students to major in physics. PDAC persons in charge of activities should keep in mind the orientation student audience, e.g. beach party, sky-seeing, …etc.

  9. Acknowledgement PDAC thanks all Physics (and non-physics) faculty and staff members and the University Administration for their overall support Thank you for your attention
