This session aims to deepen our understanding of how culture influences student learning and teacher methodologies, particularly for English Language Learners (ELLs). We will explore the cultural contexts ELL students navigate, the impact of language disparity, and cultural misconceptions that hinder learning. Attendees will engage in discussions about student strengths and challenges, share strategies to motivate ELL students, and assess cognitive style differences in the classroom. By understanding the dual cultural realities faced by ELLs, educators can better support their academic success.
