  2. What Is Elevating Work Platform? An elevating work platform is a machine or a mechanical device that is used by the workers to carry out tasks at great heights. It can be termed as bucket truck or rather a mobile elevating work platform. Elevated Work Platformis formally designed for the convenience of the workers to perform tasks at heights which are usually inaccessible.

  3. What Are Such Platforms Used For? Such platforms are mainly used to perform at elevated heights. These machines are not used for long periods of time as they involve risk of workers and commodity. They are used for temporary tasks to be performed such as maintenance or construction work or else by firefighters in case of emergency. This feature differentiates them from permanent machines used in construction work such as elevators. They can be easily operated by a single operator.

  4. What Are Various Types Of Elevated Work Platforms? There are various types of elevated work platforms. The various types of elevated work platforms have various and distinct features and applications. The driving mechanism is what causes the difference between them. Listed below are the classifications of elevated work platforms: • Articulated Lift: They are mainly used for maintenance operations such as window cleaning and various indoor maintenance operations. They closely appear like Vehicle Loading Crane.

  5. Trailer mounted EWP These elevating work platforms are mounted on a moveable trailer and can be towed by most vehicles with a tow ball. They have manually adjusted stabilisers to provide stability for the platform while it is being used and have a range of working heights up to 26 metres. Self-propelled EWP with scissor arms These EWPs are self-propelled units for use on flat concrete surfaces or firm unsealed areas. The work platform is elevated by scissor arms which are powered by hydraulic cylinder. There are controls at ground level and on the platform. These EWPs can be fitted with outriggers, and their maximum platform heights can be over 30 metres.

  6. The Key Elements To Consider When You Are Working:  the type of work to be done  the location of the job, including site and environmental issues and other work activities in the area  the height of the job  whether any approvals are required  the time within which the job is to be completed, and  the expected results or ‘outcomes’.
