What does a 3/4 day look like? 8:25-8:35 Morning routines (Pledge, attendance, assignment notebooks) 8:35-9:00 Morning meeting and Student of the Week 9:00-9:30 Specials (vary among homeroom classrooms) 9:30-10:10 Language Arts (Writing, Spelling, and Vocabulary) 10:10-10:20 Recess (10:00-10:10 for 4th grade) 10:20-10:30 Snack and Read Aloud

  4. What does a 3/4 day look like? 10:30-11:30 Math Block for 3/4 11:30-11:40 Handwriting 11:40-12:20 Lunch & Recess 12:20-12:45 Shared Reading Block for 3/4 12:45-1:15 Power Half Hour Block for 3/4 1:15-1:45 Guided Reading Block for 3/4

  7. Reading • Guided Reading, Shared Reading, and Power Half Hour • Power Half Hour: 30 minute block • Shared and Guided Reading: 60 minute block • Common Core Standards: • Literature • Informational Texts • Vocabulary • Story Elements

  8. Power Half Hour • 30 minutes daily • Reading instruction provided at appropriate level for all students • Classroom teachers and support staff members work together to best meet the individual needs of each student • Skills are reinforced in a small group setting
