OBJECTIVES Centralized services for standardized data publication (National GBIF Node), offered to all Swiss institutions gathering biodiversity informations (Museums, Swiss National Records Centers) Multilingual (F/D/I/E) approach for key concepts (Geography, Field- and identification methods, Ontogeny, Stratigraphy and others), allowing: • a standardized publication at international level (data portal GBIF.org) • multilingual queries and display at national level (data portal GBIF.ch) Considered domains: Zoology, Botany, Palaeontology

  3. LOGISTICS Financial means 2004 – 2011 * 1’150’000 € (2004) * 1’533’000 € (2011) but for us nothing has changed

  4. DIGITIZATION PROJECTS Zoology Total fundsallocated: CHF 333’200 (49%)

Swissauthorities in charge of culture and research and private sponsors support • the management and extension of collections, withreferencespecimensgatheredwithin all national surveys • the research in systematicsrequired for theirscientificvalorization • study programs necessary to ensure the continuity of thisambitious initiative
