Dependent Eligibility Audit • Step 1 – Affidavit Audit • 4 Goals – Correct data on enrollment system, collect dependent SS#s for Medicare, collect phone numbers for Disease Management + clean out those dependents who don’t belong • Ees instructed to review online enrollment info, fill in dependent SS#s, phone #s & correct address • Download affidavit form, complete & submit • EPC cost: minimal • Estimated savings: Dental reduction in members per EE equates to estimated cost reduction of $190,000 / yr.
Dependent Audit • Step 2 – Aon Document Audit • Targeted / random audit of 1/3rd of group • Full documents required: Birth certificates, marriage certificates & most recent tax return listing dependents with SS# & income data blacked out. • Handled by Aon’s Dependent Audit unit • Process: • Initial letters mailed 12/1, response due by 12/31 • 2nd letter mailed 1/15 with email to district with names, due 2/12 • Final email to districts 2/16 – Aon closes phone center 2/19 • Last chance to submit 2/26 • Non compliant: Dependents will be terminated • Cost:$80,000 (Quote for full audit was over $160,000)
