LHD-1 Wasp Class • Multipurpose amphibious assault ship • Carries a mix of helicopters and AV-8B Harrier jets • Can carry up to 3 LCACs • LHD-1-7 have steam propulsion with emergency diesel generators • LHD-8 has gas turbine propulsion with diesel electrical generators.
