  2. Part I: Sit vs. set Sit (v.) To rest on the buttocks or haunches ex. Sit in a chair! b. To occupy a place as a member of an official body ex. Sit in Congress. (transitive v) to cause to be seated: place on or in a seat – often used with down .

  3. Part I: Sit vs. Set Set (v) a. to cause to sit : place in or on a seat ex. Set the dishes in the sink b. to furnish as a pattern or model ex. Set an example of generosity

  4. Part II: Stationary vs. Stationery Stationary (n) fixed in a station, course, or mode: immobile/unchanging in condition ex. I will remain stationary until the end of the movie Stationery (n) materials(as paper, pens and ink) for writing or typing/letter paper usually accompanied with matching envelopes . ex. My friend’s baby shower invitations were on beautiful stationery.

Older than I am b. Used as a function word to indicate difference of kind, manner, or identity; used especially with some adjectives and adverbs that express diversity ex. Anywhere else than at home
