  1. Hussein Mehdi My childhood

  2. My Childhood • I was a little boy in Lebanon, I grew up in the capital city Beirut. • Every week on Friday afternoon we drove to our country house outside of Beirut. • I always sat by the windows when my father drove the car. • My mother always asked me “did you bring plastic bag with you?” because ever time I felt car sick.

  3. My father drove the car more then two hours in the traffic and finally we escaped from all that when we were in our small country house • I was about seven years old, I remember playing near the lake with my friend and cousins, one southern frog sang at the same time there

  4. We never tried to swim in this lake because we could always see snakes. • The bravest thing we could do at this time was just walking beside along the waterfront and striking stones on the lake surrounding and catching the little frog and marking them. • We liked to know if these frog could find the lake if we put them far from their home .

  5. My childhood was pretty calm in my country • Large olive and orange trees surrounded our house . • I still remember when I looked up over the balcony I could see the sea to the west, thin ,shiny and long like a snake when it lies down under the sun .

  6. My age is over forty right now and I will never forget those days. • I’m holding onto my memories. • I can’t forget this part of my life and they will stay with me until the day I die … • Hussein Mehdi • Certificate 1, 2010
