There are 7 different types: • Package Holiday • Independent Holiday • Domestic Holiday • In-Bound and out-Bound Holidays • Holidays involving long and short haul flights • Special interest holidays • Short-Break Holidays

  3. Package Holidays Package holidays means that the customer pays a set price for a complete holiday i.e. it include the transport, accommodation and services. It might also include trips, meals, travel insurance and entertainment. • There are 5 different packages: • Self Catering • Half Board • Full Board • Bed & Breakfast • Room Only

  4. Independent Holidays Independent holidays are when you arrange the holiday yourself. For example a tour of Europe, you would need to arrange accommodation and method of travel.

  5. Domestic Holidays Many people still enjoy taking their holidays in this country. This is a domestic holiday.

  6. In-bound and Out-bound Holidays Holidays are also categorised into whether they are inbound or outbound. Inbound are tourists coming into the UK for their Holiday Outbound means UK residents going abroad

  7. Holidays involving short and long haul flights This is all about the lengthof time tourists spend onthe plane. A short-haul flight is where you have 5 hours or less flying time. A long-haul flight is where you have over 5 hours flying time. Tour operators will often produce different brochures for the 2 different types of holiday.

  8. Special Interest Holidays Many people go on holiday because of a particular interest they have. Perhaps to see a music or sports event or to visit a place of history.

  9. Short Break Holidays These are becoming more popular all of the time, and companies such as easyjet take advantage of it. Examples would be to visit a European city e.g. Prague
