Lively and authentic • inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list 1991 as an outstanding example of well preserved wooden town • 28 hectares • 600 buildings • 800 inhabitants • CBD – more than 200 shops • medieval features • timber frames from the 17th century on • mainly neo-renaissance townscape

  4. 1682 • Since 1682 Rauma has not suffered from a major fire. • The oldest town survey from 1698 – 1710 shows the results of rebuilding following the fire. The street network, the plot names and locations in this survey are much the same as today.
