  2. Several points have to consider before starting presentation 1. Who are your audience? 2. What are your presentation topic? 3. What is the problem you want to solve and why is it important? 4. The information of all slide should be related as bridges from one to the next slide. 5. Limit the number of slides in the presentation (15-30) 6. The location and time of the presentation. 7. Mention reference at the bottom of slide but don't read It. 10/20/2020 2

  3. Delivering 1. Use a body language (smile, use hand) 2. Maintain eye contact (face the audience) 3. Monitor tone, inflection and pace 4. Be in relaxing and maintain appearance 5. Don’t read from slide all time. 6. Avoid repeating “um,” “uh,”, “you know”, etc. 7. Before answering, think and answer concisely, clearly, and accurately 10/20/2020 3

  5. Outline Make the second slide an outline of your presentation. Only place main points on the outline slide (e.g. use the titles of each slide as main points) 10/20/2020 5

  6. Best Slide Structure 1. Use (1-2) minute per slides of your presentation. 2. Write in point form (keywords and phrases only), not complete sentences. 3. Include (4-7) lines per slide. 4. Be consistent with the animation and or figures that you use. 10/20/2020 6

  7. Avoid such points Slides that contains too many words, making it difficult both for your audience to read and understand each point. Repetition of sentences, it looks much more complicated. 10/20/2020 7

  8. Fonts Use different size fonts for main points and secondary points, this font is (18-24) point, the main point font is (24-32) point, and the title font is (32-36) point. Use a standard font (e.g. Times New Roman orArial), finally justify the sentences. 10/20/2020 8

  9. Color Use a color of font that contrasts sharply with the background (e.g. blue font on white background). Sometimes emphasize a point. use color to 10/20/2020 9

  10. Background Use backgrounds which is attractive, light and simple. It is better background consistently for all slides. Avoid backgrounds that are difficult to read from. to use the same 10/20/2020 10

  11. Graphs Use graphs in title rather than just charts and words is easier to comprehend and retain than is raw data. avoiding: Minor gridlines, small Font, missing Title. 10/20/2020 11

  12. Spelling and Grammar Proof spelling, avoid repeated words, checking grammar and when English is not your mother tongue, you have to ask someone else for checking your presentation. 10/20/2020 12

  13. Conclusions The good presentation is that has a strong conclusion, because the audience is going to remember your last words. This conclusion is summarizing the main points of your presentation, finally suggest future avenues of research (What are, or could be, the next steps?). 10/20/2020 13

  14. Questions Avoid ending a presentation abruptly. End your presentation with a question slide. Invite your audience to ask questions. 10/20/2020 14
