Stonehenge. Tye Shelton 3 rd period 10-19-10. Main idea. Stonehenge is a great wonder of the world. Not many people know who or what built it, and why? All I know is the modern age has not been to kind to S tonehenge, but it still stands tall. Look and find Stonehenge!!!!.

  2. Main idea • Stonehenge is a great wonder of the world. Not many people know who or what built it, and why? All I know is the modern age has not been to kind to Stonehenge, but it still stands tall. Look and find Stonehenge!!!!

  3. Main idea of 1st source • What were the pieces of construction. • 1st support: The blue stones are four tons and were transported 240 miles.

  4. Supports • 2nd support: A doctor thinks Druids found all the materials.

  5. Supports • 3rd support: Some stones called the “ Heel Stones” were thirty-tons. These stones were transported over 300 miles to the Stonehenge area.

  6. 2nd main idea • Who built Stonehenge? And Why? • 1st support: The Druids were thought to have built the structure.

  7. Supports • 2nd support: John Aubrey, Cesar, and other famous Roman empires believe a little known Celtic manor had the first plans to build.

  8. supports • 3rd supports: Modern day technology has flourished around the monument. Which doesn’t help the already ill stone any.

  9. 3rd main idea • Main Idea: When did the three phases of construction start. • 1st support: The first phases started in 2950 B.C

  10. Supports • 2nd support: The second phase lasted from 2900 to 2400 B.C

  11. supports • 3rd support: The third phase started in 2550 until 1600 B.C. Construction still went on further but at that time records were not well kept.
