  2. Early Years • Born on June 6, 1775 in Coventry, Connecticut • Parents were Richard Hale and Elizabeth Strong • Had 11 siblings

  3. Education • Went to Yale College at 14 years old • Graduated when he was 18 years old • Became a teacher • First taught in East Haddam and then in New London • Worked in a union grammar school • One of the top 13 scholars

  4. Jobs • Was a teacher • Joined the Connecticut Militia • Joined the Continental Army as a 1st lieutenant • Later promoted to be captain • Volunteered to act as a spy

  5. Role During the Revolution • He was a first lieutenant then a captain

  6. Role After the Revolution • He died in the Revolution

  7. Family • Nathan Hale didn't have a wife nor any children

  8. Death • Nathan Hale died because he was hanged • He died in 1776 • He died in New York City
