  1. Poetry out loud project Cody Schirner

  2. Robert Frost stopping by woods on a snowy evening And whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound’s the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. would suffice. .

  3. Robert frost stopping by woods on a snowy evening Stanza-1 Lines-16 Genre-lyric Poetic terms- end rhyme, imagery, alliteration, and repetition.

  4. Literal meaning Figurative meaning Literal- the literal meaning of my poem is the man that owns this land will not be mad at me being on his land because he isn’t there to see. So I could get away with standing on his property without him seeing me near it. Figurative- the figurative meaning of my poem is even though the man isn’t there to catch you on his land, doesn’t mean you need to be on his land without permission.

  5. imagery In lines 3-4 it says “He will not see me stopping here to watch his woods fill up with snow”. That puts the image of a man standing on the edge of the woods while its snowing looking into the woods and admiring its beauty.

  6. Poetic terms • End rhyme: • This poem has end rhyme because it gives the poem a song like rhythm to it. It makes the poem sound catchy and want to read it joyfully • Imagery: • This poem has imagery because imagery gives the reader an idea what the poem is like. In my poem, it makes you think and picture a man in the woods while it is snowing

  7. Poetic terms #2 • Alliteration: • This poem has alliteration because alliteration makes the poem have a repetitive sound • Repetition: • This poem has repetition because repetition makes the poem sound like a song and gives the poem a repetitive sound

He moved to New England at the age of eleven and became interested in reading and writing poetry during his high school years in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He was enrolled at Dartmouth College in 1892, and later at Harvard, though he never earned a formal degree. In 1895, Frost married Elinor Miriam White, who became a major inspiration in his poetry until her death in 1938. Robert Frost lived and taught for many years in Massachusetts and Vermont, and died in Boston on January 29, 1963.

  9. Authors meaning Meaning: The meaning of the poem is you can see beautiful things that others can’t see. So look and see while you can. Purpose: The purpose of the poem is to make the reader think and wonder what the man in the poem sees and what he is feeling like on seeing the woods by himself.

  10. The lesson • The lesson the poem shares is you can only see some things once, you don’t have a long time to see the beautiful things in life so see it while you can
