Lao practices • In Lao PDR, the government and many sectors have been issued an Orders, Min. Decrees, Regulations… on the management of Substances and Chemicals; Agriculture and Forestry; Industry; Public Health Mineral Resources and Environment. For example: • Prime Minister’s Order on Management of Import-Export of Substances and Chemicals that damage to Ozone Layer, No. 162, Dated 13 Oct. 2003. • The content of this Order;

(organizations, inspections) • Ministry’s Decree on Management of chemical substances that damage to Ozone Layer (MNRE) No. 7858, dated 09 Nov. 2012. Main content of the Decree; • General Provisions; on labels are issued by MNRE to indicated substances that use for cooling before its import to Laos PDR. • Plan to reduce and stop using of; • January 2010; stop using CFCs, HALON and Carbontetrachroride, reduced to 70% of using Methylchloroform, • To January 2013, to reduce HCFC’s to 2009-2010 level.
Lao PDR practices • To Jan. 2015; stop using Methylchloform and Methylbromide, reduce HCFCs to 10% of 2009-2010. • Jan. 2020; reduce using HCFCs at 35% compare to 2009-2010. • Jan. 2025; reduce HCFCs to 65% compare to 2009-2010. • Jan. 2030; reduce using HCFCs to 97.5% of 2009-2010 level and allowed using to maintain existed equipments only, and • Jan. 2040; stop using HCFCs.
