  3. Tidwell Vision Statement Tidwell Middle School will challenge all students to achieve excellence in a wide range of academic, athletic, and fine arts activities. With a focus on high and clear standards, a relevant curriculum, and appropriate safety nets, our students will leave our campus ready and prepared for any course of study they choose at the high school level.

  4. Middle School ~ opportunity, responsibility and a whole lot of learning! COMMON CONCERNS: Need for sense of belonging Need to fit in Peer Pressure Multi-tasking home, school and outside activities Fear of starting high school ~ INDEPENDENCE AND RESPONSIBILITY ~ need to be cultivated and celebrated!

  5. Middle school is hard on parents, too! Don’t be shy! All parents have concerns & fears. We are here to lend you support, offer tips, and walk through this with you during this challenging time.

  6. 30 Years of Research… Home involvement in schooling has a POSITIVE impacton youngster’s attitudes, aspirations, and achievement. One of the most effective ways to increase student achievement is for parents to be actively involved in the education of their children.

  10. Brahams Orchestra Students who study music outperform non-music students on achievement tests in reading and math. Because of their study in music, their skills are better in reading, anticipating, memory, listening, forecasting, recall and concentration. B.   23. Attitude Are they excited about their learning mathematics? Do they try to do things “faster” than the other students? Are they intrigued/not frustrated by problems that cannot be solved right away? Do they show an aptitude for building and drawing? Do they appear strong in science? Aptitude Have they done well on standardized tests? Do they have an easy time learning mathematics? Do they like to read for pleasure? Pre AP Readiness
