2. Who we are: “We are a group of enthusiastic and ambitious Libyan Women, ranging from 14 to 35 of age. Amongst us are students, engineers, doctors, and lawyers, who share a common dream of a stronger healthier society where women and children are empowered to become valuable resources in their communities. We initially gathered as a small circle of friends collecting personal money and efforts to help Libyans in refugee camps in Tunisia. As trusted friends started to invite new friends, we quickly grew into a larger group, with a wider scope, in the hopes of becoming a registered Non-Profit Organization, and better serve our cause. "

3. من نحن: إننا مجموعة من الفتيات الليبيات المتحمسات نحمل الكثير من الطموحات والآمال والأحلام .. تتراوح أعمارنا ما بين 14 حتى 32 عاما ..  إننا طالبات .. مهندسات .. طبيبات .. محاميات .. نحن نون النسوة الليبيات. يجمعنا حلم واحد وهو خلق مجتمع قوي وأكثر صحة ندعم فيه الأطفال والنساء حتى يصبحوا دخر لهذا الوطن .. اجتمعنا في البداية كدائرة صغيرة من الصديقات لجمع الأموال وكل ما يمكن من الخدمات الخاصة لمساعدة إخوتنا الليبيين في مخيمات اللاجئين في تونس .. وخطوة بخطوة بدأ هذا الحلم يكبر ومن دائرة صغيرة أصبحنا دائرة أكبر تحمل حلم أكبر وأهداف أعلى .. وكلنا أمل أن تغدوا هذه الدائرة مؤسسة خيرية غير ربحية مسجلة حتى نخدم أهدافنا ونحقق أحلامنا بشكل أفضل.

Vision: We aim to make a positive social change in Libya, while maintaining our true Libyan identity, through women and children empowerment and rehabilitation, especially for those victimized by war, helping them achieve their full potential and transforming them into active citizens in their communities and collectively build the generations of the New Libya, where no one’s right is lost, and no potentials or human resources are wasted. 

5. رؤيتنا: غايتنا هي إحداث تغيير اجتماعي إيجابي في وطننا ليبيا مع الحفاظ على هويتنا الليبية الحقيقية عن طريق تقوية و إعادة تأهيل المرأة و الطفل -خاصة المتضررين من الحرب- بمساعدتهم على إخراج طاقاتهم الكامنة و تحويلهم إلى عناصر فعالة في مجتمعهم من أجل بناء أجيال ليبيا الجديدة، حيث لا يضيع حق ولا تهدر الطاقات ولا تهمش الموارد البشرية.

Mission: Our mission is to create a collaborative comfortable environment in which women and children of different backgrounds can participate with whatever they have to offer to help each other through our different programs which provide the tools and resources necessary to survive the effects of war, and to achieve social and economic well-being. We empower our participants through educational and awareness programs, capacity building and training workshops, along with financial support, to equip them with everything they need to become strong, independent individuals, and launch new healthy lives.

7. مهمتنا: مهمتنا هي خلق بيئة مريحة يشارك فيها النساء والأطفال من مختلف الخلفيات والبيئات بما يمكنهم بمساعدة بعضهم البعض . إذ توفر برامجنا الأدوات والموارد التي يحتاجها النساء والأطفال الليبيون للتغلب على آثار الحرب التي أصابتهم سعياً بذلك لتحقيق الاستقرار النفسي والإجتماعي والمادي .نقوم أيضا بتقوية منتسبينا عن طريق برامج تعليمية وتثقيفية وتوعوية وورش تدريبية لبناء قدراتهم .. بالإضافة للدعم المادي لتجهيزهم بكل مايحتاجونه ليصبحوا أقوياء مستقلين وقادرين على بناء حياة صحية ومستقبل أفضل.

Our Name: The Phoenix is a mythical fire bird, that fiercely burns into ashes as it reaches (what would seem like) the end of its life, just to be reborn anew, as a young strong phoenix arising from its own ashes, taking another chance to have a better life... We chose the ability of the phoenix to be reborn from its own ashes, to resemble the power of the Libyan woman and her instinct to transform the most difficult of circumstances into second chances, and possibilities of success.

10. شعارنا: العنقاء هي طائر خرافي و قد سميت بهذا الاسم لأنها تتميز بعنق طويل جميل. في نهاية حياتها، تحترق العنقاء فتتحول إلى رماد ... و لكن سرعان ما تنهض من هذا الرماد عنقاء جديدة يافعة ... تولد من جديد لتعيش مرة أخرى... قدرة العنقاء على أن تولد من رمادها يمثل قوة المرأة الليبية و قدرتها على تحويل أصعب الظروف إلى فرص ثانية و إمكانية للنجاح..

Activities: Our current activities are limited due to the critical situation in our Country, but once safety will be maintained, we intend to launch a variety of programs and initiatives to cover:1) Educational awareness and empowerment courses: aiming to provide the necessary knowledge and know-how for women and children through lectures and classes given by SMEs.2) Small\home business support: to enable women in financial need (who most of the time are the sole family providers) to start their own small businesses through a combination of free business consultancy, vocational training and no interest micro loans.3) Donation campaigns: to create means of recycling used clothes, garments, shoes, and books ...etc in order to be re-used by families in need.4) Tutoring students: to connect volunteer tutors with students who are not financially capable of paying for curricular courses.

12. Cont. Activities: 5) Mentoring youngsters: providing young women with the support of a volunteer successful role models (Big sisters) as a mentor to provide guidance and form a bond with.6) Women and children day centre: to create a safe haven for women to meet and discuss their issues, and for children to practice their recreational activities. 7) Sponsoring Orphans: to sponsor orphans with financial and emotional support throughout their adolescence.8) Awareness raising campaigns: to raise awareness about different causes, and promote good cultural values in the society.9) Psychiatric Consultancy: Provided by a specialist in the day centre in a confidential manner, either providing direct consultancy or referring cases to appropriate places to seek help and support.

13. نشاطاتنا: إن أنشطتنا الحالية محدودة بالوضع الحالي الحساس لبلادنا، و لكن فور ما تصبح بلادنا آمنة، سنعود لنطلق مختلف البرامج و المشروعات لتغطي الآتي:1) دورات تعليمية وتثقيفية وتوعوية ودورات تقوية: تهدف لتوفير المعرفة و المهارات للنساء و الأطفال من خلال محاضرات و حصص تلقى من قبل خبراء.2) دعم المشاريع الصغيرة/البيتية: لتمكين النساء المحتاجات ماديا (اللاتي هن المعيلات لعائلاتهم في معظم الأحيان)، بافتتاح مشاريع صغيرة خاصة عن طريق خليط من الإستشارات المجانية و التدريب المهني و القرض الحسنة (من دون فوائد). 3) حملات التبرع: لإنشاء وسائل و قنوات يتم من خلالها إعادة تهيئة و استعمال الملابس و الأحذية و الكتب المستعملة وغيرها من قبل العائلات المحتاجة.4) توفير دروس خصوصية للطلبة: بربط المتطوعين القادرين و الراغبين بتقديم دروس خصوصية مع الطلبة الغير قادرين ماديا على دفع تكاليف دورات التقوية المنهجية. 

14. نشاطاتنا: 5) ارشاد و توجيه الفتيات الصغيرات السن: بالتنسيق مع متطوعات ناجحات حتى يكن قدوة حسنة (أخوات كبيرات) للفتيات الأصغر سنا و ليتواصلن و يشكلن روابط معهن.6) مركز نهاري للنساء والاطفال: لتوفير ملاذ آمن للنساء ليلتقين فيه و يناقشن مشاكلهن ، و للأطفال ليمارسوا فيه أنشطتهم الترفيهية.7) رعاية الأيتام: من خلال توفير الدعم المادي و المعنوي منذ طفولة اليتامى إلى أن يصبحوا راشدين.8) البرامج التوعوية: لرفع مستوى الوعي بالقضايا المختلفة و تعزيز القيم الأخلاقية و الثقافية الحسنة في المجتمع.9) الإستشارات النفسية: تقدم من خلال مختص موجود في المركز النهاري بشكل يضمن خصوصية المعنيين، و يتم ذلك إما عن طريق تقديم الإستشارة مباشرة أو بتوجيه الحالات إلى الجهات المناسبة.

Menstrual Pads For Our Libyan Sisters 16 June 2011 Purpose: - Under the current circumstances; we found that many of our beloved sisters were unlikely to have access to pads, and are forced to go through a very difficult time. Our purpose was to provide these much needed monthly products to the women in need. Procurement: - Tunisia-based Lila’s pads company has offered us a generous offer of 0.650 TD a pack. In a week’s time we’ve managed to raise 2000TD for this cause and the result was a total of 3075 packs. Delivery: - For the distribution we’ve teamed up with the Aid tent down in Al-Manzah el Khames-Tunis. The shipment took off on the 16th of June 2011 and was distributed to 4 points (Dheba – Tataween – Ramada – Ghamersen).

17. Teenagers’ Entertainment and Hair accessories – 8 July 2011 Purpose: Considering the environment and psychological state the refugees are in, we wanted to help more on the moral side, Therefore we contacted Alsanad organization which is specialized in “Social/cultural Aid and promoting psychosocial healing and reconciliation” which have made a List of needs based on a careful study and surveys. They have assigned us to fully take care of the hair accessories section and entertainments for adolescents. Procurement: Based on the assigned items and group discussion the specific items were decided. With the assistance and help of kind Tunisian individuals, three of the group members went downtown to find the best prices for new/used books and the hair accessories wholesalers.With the amount of 900DT we managed to purchase the following items:• 150 hair accessories packs for girls,• 150 stationery packs,• Mind/board games,• Magazines, And books. Delivery: A volunteered Libyan man drove all of the packages from Tunis to Tatawin on the 16th of June. Books, Stationery and Entertainment packages were delivered by AlSanad to the Islamic Relief School in Remada Refugee Camp.Hair accessories were delivered to the UN Remada Camp.

18. Needs for Dheba Camp 15 July 2011 Purpose: 1- Refugees in Dheba camp are drinking hot water, as the temperature is around 45 degrees and the water containers are left in under the sun in open air.2- A lovely old lady known as "Ommalshahid" which means mother of the Martyr, is also in Dheba camp and she requested a sweing machine to repair clothes of other refugees in the camps. Procurement: With an amount of 3,810 TD we managed to purchase the following items:• 2 high speed sewing machines (640 TD)• Sewing threads (50 TD)• 80 Water coolers and bottles, one water cooler for every two tents (3120 TD Delivery: Group members arranged the delivery with Al-amal Organization; Items were delivered to the UAE Dheba Camp by Al-amal accompanied by one of our group members on July 15th.

19. Fundraising Activities We have participated in a number of fundraising bazaars in Tunisia by selling desserts made by our talented group members and we intend on participating furthermore in upcoming bazaars with home made Libyan food and Handcrafts
