  2. Segment Segment routing is the most common form of computer networking. It is the most scalable and flexible way of source routing.

  3. It selects a path over the network and encodes it in the packet header that contains the list of ordered segments.

  4. The segment routing IPv6 (SRv6) network programming concept demonstrates the ability of the network to encode a network program into individual functions which are later inserted into the packet headers of IPv6.

  5. The instructor of the network is called the segment identifier (SID) or the SRv6 segment. A header of the packet contains the list of segments.

  6. The segment routing header (SRH) has a pointer between SID which is known as segment left.

  7. The Segment identifier (SID) consists of two parts. The first displays the address of the specific SRv6 node. This part is known as the locator. The other part represents the function that is being executed using locator bits.

  8. Segment routing is the architecture that focuses on maintaining the proper balance between intelligence and central optimization.
