INTERNAL JOB BULLETIN JOB TITLE:Assurance Accountant DEPARTMENT:ISG/IA Finance Team.LOCATION: Hassi Messaoud BDVLINE MANAGER:General Accounting & Tax Team Leader ACCOUNTABILITIES The Assurance & Tax Accountant is responsible for advising on Algerian tax issues and assisting in all financial audits performed on both ISG and IA Association. Roles and responsibilities will include the following: • Calculation, approval and issue of Algerian Payroll tax and IBS return. • Control and provide VAT Tax certificates to suppliers. • Issue contractors with annual payroll tax letters stating credit for tax deducted. • Provide E&Y (UK, Norway and US) with annual statement of Algerian payroll taxes paid for UK/US/ Norwegian citizens and Algerian Tax Authorities with similar information relating to expatriate staff. • Prepare annual tax returns for IRG • Prepare annual social security tax return. • Prepare working papers for training tax for exoneration. • Effectively manage relationships between Sonatrach and Association for cost recovery Audit matters. • Assist with agreeing the cost recovery strategy and ensuring compliance with Finance Team processes as appropriate. • Assist with delivery of timely close out of Cost Recovery audits in line with Finance Team Performance contract for ISG and IA Association. • JV’s Contact person with DGE, CNAS offices QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE • University degree in Accounting, relevant experience in Tax is preferred. SKILLS • Familiar with Algerian tax laws • Familiar with Finance and control procedures • Ability to communicate effectively in French and English. • Good working knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Ability to work under pressure against deadlines. • Good Teamwork. • Good interpersonal skills and interaction with Finance team members and external supplier personnel.
