  1. Neutron spectrum as input to simulations n_TOF experimental-like neutron spectrum entering the EAR1 at 182.5 m from spallation target MC/CW/AT - MGAS sensitivity

  2. Geometry and settings MGAS position, 2.5 mm Al equivalent + Al floor has been introduced, 2 mm thick n beam U8 sample, 6.6 mm thick BaF2 equivalent, 15 cm + 2 cm Al external thickness Neutron starting point @182.5 m C6D6 liquid volume equivalent MC/CW/AT - MGAS sensitivity

  3. Settings • Neutron distribution sampled with a Gaussian shape, 1.9 cm diameter at the entrance of the EAR1 • In order to avoid capture-generated gammas from the U8 sample, production and transport threshold in U8 has been increased >1 GeV (effectively no g produced in the U8 sample) • For all the rest, transport threshold are set at 100 keV • 3 cases considered: • U8 and MGAS-equivalent in place (U8 yes, MGAS yes) • U8 in place (no MGAS-equivalent) (U8 yes, MGAS no) • No U8 in place with MGAS-equivalent in place (U8 no, MGAS yes) • To check the effect of the U8 presence in the beam line MC/CW/AT - MGAS sensitivity

  4. Photon distribution (case 1) Distribution integrated over ±10 cm wrt beamline g generated by the scattering of neutrons on the U8 sample g generated by the neutrons impinging on the MGAS-equivalent Al (in beam) MC/CW/AT - MGAS sensitivity

  5. Photon distribution (case 2) Distribution integrated over ±10 cm wrt beamline g generated by the scattering of neutrons on the U8 sample NO g generated by the neutrons impinging on the MGAS-equivalent Al MC/CW/AT - MGAS sensitivity

  6. Photon distribution (case 3) Distribution integrated over ±10 cm wrt beamline ONLY g generated by the neutrons impinging on the MGAS-equivalent Al MC/CW/AT - MGAS sensitivity

  7. Photon spectrum for the 3 cases (C6D6 #1) 10x! MC/CW/AT - MGAS sensitivity

  8. Photon spectrum for the 3 cases (C6D6#2) 10x! MC/CW/AT - MGAS sensitivity

  9. Photon spectrum for the 3 cases (C6D6 #1) – linear scale enhanced With and without MGAS: effect is max ~5 % 2.2 MeV g MC/CW/AT - MGAS sensitivity

  10. Neutron spectra for C6D6 #1 MC/CW/AT - MGAS sensitivity
