  2. OfCom • Formed in 2003 • A company that is based in London • They license every commercial Television and radio service in the UK • They also have their own postal service called Postcomm.

  3. PEGI • PEGI is the European board for game ratings • It is there to make sure that people know what kind of games they are buying • The logo can be seen on every box via their Age ratings.

  4. BBFC • This company is responsible for the age ratings of films in the UK. • They also Rate some games • They were formed in 1912. • Their HQ are in london.

  5. ESRB • The ESRB are an American/Canadian company that put age ratings on Video games and films. • They were founded in 1994 in North America and Canada • Even though this company was co-founded in Canada, the headquarters are in New york

  6. ASA • This company has many different branches across a wide variety of countries. • Their job is to Regulate the content of advertisements, sales promotions and direct marketing in the UK. • The company was founded in 1961 • They are not funded by the British government.

  7. PCC (Press complaints commission) • This company is used to forward complaints against media such as magazine and newspapers. • It received extensive criticism due to its inaction against the News of the World phone hacking affair. • They were founded in 1990.

PACT (Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television) • Pact is the UK trade association representing and promoting the commercial interests of independent feature film, television, digital, children's and animation media companies.  • They are based in London. • They believe that all producers should own their own intellectual property

NUJ (National Union of Journalists) • They were founded in 1907 • This company strives to improve the pay and conditions of their members and protect and promote media freedom, professionalism and ethical standards. • The union is represented in towns and cities all over the UK, Ireland and parts of Europe. NUJ members work together to improve living standards and working lives.

BECTU (Broadcasting, Entertainment, Cinematograph and Theatre Union) • Founded in 1991 • BECTU is the UK's media and entertainment trade union. • They handle different types of services such as Negotiating pay, conditions and contracts with employers • Their Headquarters is based in London • Their main aims are to protect jobs, increase membership, win new recognition agreements and improve pay and conditions of service, including pensions.

The Independent Games Developers Association (TIGA) • Founded in 2001 • They are a non-profit trade association representing the UK's games industry. • They are made up of independent games developers, in-house publisher-owned developers, outsourcing companies, technology businesses and universities. • TIGA's vision is to make the UK the best place in the world to do games business.

ELSPA -The Entertainment and Leisure Software Publisher's Association Ltd. • Founded in 1989 as European Leisure Software Publishers Association • ELSPA's Membership includes almost all companies concerned with the publishing and distribution of interactive leisure software in the UK •  ELSPA was responsible for introducing the video games ratings to the UK in 1994

  15. BIMA - British Interactive Media Association • Formed in 1985 • BIMA is an industry body representing the digital industry in the United Kingdom. • The BIMA Awards are held each year and celebrate excellence within the industry across a variety of categories.
