  2. Learning Plans • On appointment, all new permanent teachers with their head teacher will develop and individual learning plan for the first two years of employment. • Learning Plans will guide the support provided by Institutes in relation to training and mentoring experiences

  3. Minimum Teacher Training Standard • Technical and professional qualifications and / or industrial experience • Certificate 1V in Training and Assessment, TAA 40104, from the Training and Assessment Training Package (or equivalent).

  4. Professional Development All new teachers will have two hours of professional development per week for the first two years of employment To assist with the development and implementation of the Individual Learning Plans.

  5. New Minimum Teaching Training Standards A minimum education qualification of the TAA50104, Diploma of Training and Assessment or equivalent is required in order to undertake promotion to a position of Head Teacher.

  6. Support for Higher Qualifications TAFE NSW will support and encourage teachers to pursue higher education qualifications: Refund 100% of the Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS) each semester following successful completion of enrolled units for the approved program.
