  5. Course Aim To provide a broad based introduction to ergonomics principles & their application in the design of work, equipment and the workplace. Consideration is given to musculoskeletal disorders, manual handling, ergonomic aspects of the environment as well as to the social and legal aspects. (as per syllabus for Ergonomics Essentials, BOHS)

Course Learning Outcomes Participants will be able to: Describe & apply ergonomics principles to the creation of safer, healthier & more efficient & effective activities in the workplace Outline the process of ergonomic risk assessments Explain the causes of upper limb disorders Examine workplace layout & equipment design according to ergonomic principles Identify environmental aspects of good ergonomic design
