Proposed purpose of a knowledge space It could be used to • Share information • Learn new approaches and learn about what others are doing • Provide space for dialogue on issues of interest or a space for resolving problems collectively • Provide toolkits, manuals, potential "solutions" for those who need them

  4. Audiences Who are the target audiences? • Staff in donor organizations • Consultants and staff designing projects • Project staff • Communities • Governments

  5. Food for thought Some important questions • What do each audience group need? • In what form? • How quickly? • In what language? • What is the specificity of your organization, and how can you contribute to the platform?

  6. Success factors The space needs to • Be a shared responsibility • Not IFAD-centric • Sufficient time and resources

  7. The way forward Proposals for next steps • Identify potential audiences and their caracteristics • Conduct a needs assessment study • Link all the resources on a space such as the portal and enable members to contribute by submitting content • Create thematic directory of experts where members would moderate discussions and serve as a core group • Define roles and responsibilities of the core group • Identify possible knowledge capturing mechanisms

  8. Decisions for today • Is there a will to create this space? • For whom? • Are you willing to actively participate in the community of practice and constitute the core group of experts? • How do you think you can contribute?
