Seminar Reykjavik September 2005 A&M Workplan 2004-2006 Objectives • General aim • The general aim of the project is to develop and exchange solutions to handle specific issues relating to the vulnerability of mobile and migrant populations, with a specific focus on young people to HIV/AIDS. • Specific objectives • to collect and disseminate in-depth information, including epidemiological developments, regarding mobile populations in the European Member States and the applicant countries; • to stimulate collaboration and networking between European Member States and applicant countries on the issue of (young) migrants; • to stimulate links and collaboration between governmental and non-governmental organisations in the area of migration and youth at the national and the European level, with a focus on active involvement of the respective populations/communities;

Seminar Reykjavik September 2005 A&M Working Plan 2004-2006 Objectives • Specific objectives • to assess and document best practice with respect to prevention, care and support in Europe in the field of HIV/AIDS and migrant, mobile & young people; • to continue developing new approaches in regard to effective HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support, concerning migrant, mobile and young populations; • to provide health professionals in the field of migration and youth with the opportunity of skills building and exchange of knowledge and expertise; • to operate a helpdesk and make information and consultancy available to a wide network of professionals in the field and to policy makers at the national and the European level.

Seminar Reykjavik September 2005 A&M Working Plan 2004-2006 Activities • Description of tasks • 1st phase of the project (September 2003-2004): • Establishing the NFP network • Establishing the Advisory Board • Start collaboration with the Applicant Countries; establishing NFP partnerships • Setting up five working groups and the accompanying expert pool on the five major project issues. • Start capacity building co-operations and advocacy activities • Preparing the World AIDS Conference in Bangkok • Development and publishing two newsletters • Defining the content of the trend reports

Seminar Reykjavik September 2005 A&M Working Plan 2004-2006 Activities • Description of tasks • Overall activities: • Ongoing development of the updated AIDS & Mobility website and help-desk service • A database with more than 1.200 contacts will be operated and be the basis for referral within Europe • All reports will be disseminated widely through the network of National Focal Points: • Setting up links to other networks: Central and Eastern Europe, people living with HIV/AIDS, young people, migrants, drugs, prostitution etc.
