1st - Select the institution Select Cal Poly Pomona here
2nd – Enter Username and password Username of your choice (can be the same as your Cal Poly one if you want) Follow the instructions for entering a password here
3rd – Create a Security Question & Answer In case you forget your Username, enter a question that only you will recognize Enter an answer you will be able to remember
4th – Enter your name Enter your first and last name separately
5th – Enter your e-mail address E-mail address Enter a second (back up) e-mail address, if necessary
6th – Continuing Education credits for CITI Courses Select one that applies for you
7th – Course Survey Click Yes, if you would like to be notified to complete a course survey Otherwise click No, if you are not interested.
8th – Enter your data to registerCal Poly Pomona requires only the * fields Type in the college & / or department at Cal Poly where you work or study, example -Psychology, Student Affairs, Kinesiology, Business/HRM Select “principal investigator” or “student” or “student researcher” or whatever is appropriate to your situation
Selecting a Curriculum(s) When the page is first loaded, it may seem as if the page has ended because of the huge space gap; do not be fooled scroll down for 2 more options (which are the next 2 slides).
9th – Select Curriculum IRB Most will select this introductory group, a sub-section of all the modules This is an example of CPP faculty using the CITI for training in their classes (other groups can be set up; contact the IRB administrator) If you work with animals select this last option, then proceed to question 2
10th – Select Curriculum ACUC Choose one of the following. Multiple selections are not offered If you do not work with animals Click this last selection. You only needed to answer question 1
11th-Select Curriculum RCR This space is reserved for information about the Responsible Conduct of Research training modules, which will be required for some NSF and NIH grantees.
12th – Do you need to affiliate with another institution? Perhaps you are a student at UCLA, and are using Cal Poly subjects, and need to inform the IRB at UCLA of your CITI training? Then answer yes below to be affiliated there, too. click “no” to be a part of Cal Poly only
Last - Get CITI trained! If you discover you selected the wrong group for training or need to update your learner groups (Go to next slide for more info) For anything else that needs completion or fixing
Add or Update your Learner Group (s) You should have clicked on the previous link (“Add a course or Update your Learner Groups”). In case you first were apart of one particular “Learner group” and you need to change to another, this is where you would go to change it to enroll into different training. Notice your new/updated selection Notice your old/current selected curriculum
