  1. NASCOE MEMBER’SSCHOLARSHIP To recognize those members who enhance their FSA careers by taking additional adult education courses

ELIGIBILITY • Applicant must be a permanent County Office employee and NASCOE member • Dues mustbe paid and membership kept current for the past 5 years or since becoming a permanent CO employee • Each Area will have one $200 winner • An applicant may only win one (1) time • Applications mustbe hard copies with all appropriate signatures (no electronic applications will be accepted)

  3. Other Criteria • The application mustbe certified as eligible by an officer of the state association • The scholarship year is September 1 to August 31 (same as service for officers) • Used to defray expenses for member’s attendance at an adult education course

  4. Evaluation Criteria Applications will be evaluated by the judges on the following: • ASCS/FSA Work Experience = 1 to 10 points • Courses Attending or Currently Enrolled to attend (statement or transcript for the school attached) = 1 to 10 points • Short essay (1 single-spaced page maximum) explaining “How will this course further my FSA career?” = 1 to 10 points

  5. Area Judging Process All applications MUST be forwarded to the Area Scholarship Chairperson no later than JANUARY 15th. An Original and Five (5) copies MUST be sent by this deadline. • Area Judging Committee SHALL make the Area selection by FEBRUARY 1st. • Established score sheet will be used by Area Chairperson to tabulate points and announce the winner • If a TIE vote occurs, the Area Chairperson SHALL break the tie by judging the applications that are tied

  6. PRESENTATION • The Area Scholarship Chairperson SHALL make the certificate presentation at the Area Rally • Photos of each Area winner should be displayed at the Rally and National Convention but is not required (no reimbursement will be made to the winners for these photos)
