  2. Dr. France Prešeren, a poet an a solicitor, lived in Kranj – where he is burried – for the last two years of his life. In 1852 the Slovene patriots set him a tombstone. In the house ehwre Prešeren used to live, the Prešeren Memorial Museum was opened in 1964. The inhabitants of Kranj remember the poet in February ehen various curtural events take place. The Municipality of Kranj celebrates its holiday on the day of Prešeren’s birth, December the 3rd..
