Positions to run for: • President • Vice-President • Treasurer  • Communications Officer • Sports Representative  • Social Representative These positions haven’t changed from the previous years, for a breakdown of their duties, see our Constitution on our website (more on this later) www.pasa-uwo.com

  3. Introducing two new positions • Outreach Officer • A new position based on a some of PASA’s new initiatives this year • Will be in charge of a committee devoted to outreach activities on campus and in London (high school presentations mainly, this includes our array of demonstrations) • Will work with the Department Outreach Committee in their projects • The position is very open to creative input and has a lot of freedom in where it can be taken • We are looking for somebody with a strong initiative that is ready to volunteer their time to further the strength and size of the Western undergraduate physics department in future years

  4. Science Students’ Council Representative • The liaison between SSC and PASA and as such, is bound by both Constitutions • About 80% SSC and 20% PASA with respect to responsibilities • Mainly responsible for relaying information between the two constituencies • SSC requires the following responsibilities: • work with the Vice-President Student Events to organize one social, cultural, or educational event for the students within their Department • contribute to The Current during their term; • contribute to the new SciWiki; • Attend either Fall Preview Day or March Break Open House run by the Faculty of Science; and • submit a final report to the President no later than April 1 • Note: meetings are held bi-weekly on Tuesday nights • For a full breakdown of all duties see:www.pasa-uwo.com • Uwoscience.ca

How do I apply? • Nominate yourself today! • Please consider running for an executive position on PASA • Our mandate is to enhance the university experience of physics and astronomy students, to provide representation in the department and university community and to provide members with opportunities to interact with other members in academic and social settings • Running for a position only furthers these goals • Nominate oneself by emailing Farhang Jalilian fjalilia@uwo.ca before Friday, March 16 • FRIDAY MARCH 16

Elections • Elections will take place during seminar on March 29th • An issue that PASA has come across recently is that our Constitution is in need of an update • The Constitution is our underlying policy that gives meaning and direction to everything we do and in it is a clause that states any changes must be voted upon by all PASA members • We will be making changes to the Constitution and it will then be emailed to everyone and posted on the website for comments and review • Then on March 29th this will be voted upon • Note: if you, by chance, don’t give a flying flute about the Constitution, don’t vote for that section of the elections. But also consider that YOU have elected PASA exec and that you trust us to make changes that would benefit the students we serve
