  26. FOULS ON OPPOSING TEAMS • Fouls of equal gravity are cancelled regardless of the order in which they occur

  27. FOULS ON OPPOSING TEAMS • Play 1: A1 is fouled in the act of shooting, followed by a Technical on coach A and a Technical on coach B • Cancel the two coach T’s and shoot the two FT’s for A1.

  28. FOULS ON OPPOSING TEAMS • Play 2. A1 fouled in the act of shooting, FG is good. A1 commits an unsportsmanlike foul on B1 and then a technical. • A1 1 FT, B1 2 shots, any B player 2 shots and possession.

  29. FOULS ON OPPOSING TEAMS • Play 3: During a live ball A1 makes inappropriate comments towards B2. At the same time B2 pushes A1. • This is not a double foul but the penalties are of equal gravity. Team A retains possession. Throw in at spot of foul

  30. QUIZ #1: Name 5 situations when a player will straddle the centre line for the throw-in. • Beginning of a quarter • After unsportsmanlike foul • After technical foul • After disqualifying foul • After a time-out in last 2 min. by offense in their backcourt

  31. QUIZ #2: Who invented the shot clock, and how did he decide to use 24 sec. as the limit? • The owner of the Syracuse NBA team invented the shot clock. He calculated this by taking the number of seconds in an NBA game and dividing it by the average number of team possessions (120).
