  4. Behavioral Approach • Rewards are consequences of behaviors • Incentives encourage or discourage behaviors

  5. Humanistic Approaches • Encourage peoples’ inner resources • Self-actualization • Self-determination • Self-esteem, etc. • Maslow’s hierarchy of needs
