Objectives: Learn the use of the negative and the interrogative form in the past tense. To form the negative sentence in the past- you need ‘Ne…pas’ which forms a sandwich around the auxiliary verb and means ‘didn’t’. Elle n’ a pas regardé pas la télé. She didn’t watch TV.

  1. Objectives:Learn the use of the negative and the interrogative form in the past tense.

  2. To form the negative sentence in the past- you need ‘Ne…pas’ which forms a sandwich around the auxiliary verb and means ‘didn’t’. Elle n’a pas regardé pas la télé. She didn’t watch TV.

  3. Ne becomes n’ before a vowel or an h. Je n’ai pas joué au foot I didn’t play football.

  4. After pas- du, de la, un, une and des become de ...just like in the present tense. Je n’ai pas acheté de pommes- I didn’t buy any apples. Il n’a pas mangé de biscuits-He didn’t eat any biscuits.
