  3. Types of Embroidery • Initially the embroidery was done using hands, later with the developing world the embroidery also developed and is being done using Machines. The various types of embroidery include, • 1.Surface Embroidery 2. Candlewick Embroidery • 3.Red work Embroidery 4. Crewel Embroidery • 5.Cross Stitch 6. Blue work Embroidery • 7.Sashiko Embroidery 8.Black work Embroidery

It is • mostly used in surface embroidery • and cross stitch. • Crewel Embroidery – • Crewel is a type of decorative surface • Embroidery that includes plants, animals • and sometimes people, arranged in a • fanciful, flowing design or repeating • pattern.

Typically, • one stitch is worked over each square fabric, • which counted by working over two threads. • Blue work Embroidery – • Blue work Embroidery is an embroidery that • uses only blue thread on white or antural • colored fabric.
