Policy Committee Meeting Update - December 3, 2004: Data Analysis and Modeling Progress

The Policy Committee met on December 3, 2004, to review the status of data analysis and modeling efforts. Draft final reports are currently under TC review. Three contracts with Sonoma Technology, Desert Research Institute, and Colorado State University require time extensions. Sixteen presentations/posters have been submitted for the national PM conference in February 2005. All modeling contracts have been approved, and meteorological modeling reviews are in progress. The current budget balance is $407,217, with upcoming action items including monitoring contracts and broader participation initiatives.

  2. Data Analysis Status • Draft final reports undergoing TC review • Three contracts require time extensions: • Sonoma Technology • Desert Research Institute • Colorado State University • 16 presentations/posters submitted for national PM conference in February 2005

  3. Modeling Status • All four modeling contracts approved by Study Agency • Meteorological modeling review underway • Emission inventory inputs undergoing final speciation • Funding provided for student to assist SJVAPCD and ARB with modeling for SIPs

  4. Budget Status • Current balance (10/31/04): $167,217 • Release from equipment fund: $240,000 • NET AVAILABLE: $407,217

  5. Upcoming Action Items • Establish contract for west-side monitoring • Establish new contract with John Watson as Principal Investigator for conceptual model development • Present summary of findings to date at spring PC meeting • Encourage broader participation in TC
