Serial Dilutions Example!. Make a 0.2-g/ mL NaCl STOCK solution - Add 2 g of sodium chloride to beaker and add distilled water to 10 mL. 0.2 g/mL NaCl Stock Solution. Get as many test tubes (minus two) as you have Petri dishes for your experiment.

  2. Make a 0.2-g/mLNaClSTOCKsolution - Add 2 g of sodium chloride to beaker and add distilled water to 10 mL 0.2 g/mL NaCl Stock Solution

  3. Get as many test tubes (minus two) as you have Petri dishes for your experiment

  4. Add 5 mL of distilled water to each of you test tubes

  5. Add 5 mL of Stock Solution to first test tube.

  6. Mix the first Tube 0.1 g/mL NaCl

  7. Take 5 mL of first tube and add to second tube

  8. Mix 0.1 g/mL NaCl 0.05 g/mL NaCl

  9. Repeat and remove 5 ml from last tube and discard 0.1 g/mL NaCl 0.05 g/mL NaCl 0.025 g/mL NaCl 0.0125 g/mL NaCl 0.00625 g/mL NaCl 0.00313 g/mL NaCl 0.0156 g/mL NaCl
