  2. Request for New Position • Legal Counsel in the Office of General Counsel - $165,828 • Permanent salary funds, associated fringe benefits, operating expenses In addition one time only expenses for office furniture and equipment in the amount of $4,000

  3. Enhance Academic Quality and Value • Transparent to the student; but, in an indirect way, additional staffing in the Legal Office will contribute to the overall student experience and the institutional reputation. • The office works to ensure that all legal issues are handled in a timely and efficient manner with the utmost professionalism. • The additional Legal Counsel will be able to assist with the significant workload of the office.

Benefits Positive direct and/or indirect financial impact to the UniversityIntangible positive important benefits • With an additional Legal Counsel, issues can be addressed sooner and in some cases may minimize financial impact. • Departments will have their concerns addressed in a more timely manner which will impact morale, the work environment and efficiency.

  5. Reinvestments in past year • Funds were reallocated to add a Coordinator in the Compliance Office (related to NCAA). • Important investment to ensure that there is sufficient staff to continue to make certain that all rules and regulations are followed.
