  2. The struggles • Writing a solid conclusion is a struggle for most writers. • It isn’t a high priority, especially when dealing with a time crunch. • Difficult to restate what you have already said.

The solutions • The conclusion is meant to serve as a reminderofyour essay’s main idea/argument. • Often the concluding paragraph is short 2-3 sentences will work for shorter papers. • As you begin your conclusion make sure that you have already made your point throughout the essay. • Consider your conclusion the last nail in the “house” that is your essay.

  4. Items to include in your conclusion • Echo your thesis without just restating it. • Briefly summarize your key points. • Propose a course of action. • Offer advice. • Pose a question for future study. • Include a detail, example, or image from the introduction to bring readers full circle. • Assess the significance or “so what” of your thesis!!!!!!!
