  1. WASH in Schools Meeting in Europe The Hague, The Netherlands Mundial 24th -25th May2011

Why are we having this meeting? • Strengthen the WASH in Schools Partnership in Europe and get European based organizations to engage with the global WASH in Schools movement. • Advocate WASH in schools to become an integral part of health, education, and WASH sector plans/investments/activities.

  3. What are our objectives for this meeting? • Day 1: Reflect on the work that has taken place in WASH in schools through a number of key presentations • Day 2: Reflect on WASH in Schools (WINS) Partnership Think-Tank Group

  4. Global Advocacy: To increase WASH in Schools advocacy among key stakeholders - i.e. policy makers, implementers, researchers, donors and other potential contributors - to • Resource Mapping: To systematically document and share best practices, effective strategies/approaches as well as funding and knowledge sources to support governments in their efforts to improve WASH in schools.

  5. Community of Practice for Improved Performance : To establish and nurture a “Community of Practice” of organizations and institutions within our partnership to increase their impact and effectiveness by sharing their contacts and knowledge, and by discussing successes and challenges they are facing

  6. What are our suggested output from this meeting? • One A4 which clearly define the key issues that have come out from this workshop • Synthesis Paper (5-10 pages) reflecting the outcomes from this workshop for practitioners, researchers, policy makers • Reflect on the WASH in school follow-up meeting

  7. Logistical details • The workshop will start at 9:00 again tomorrow • Reflect on the schedule of the coming to days • Hotel accommodation • Others?
