  3. Objective • SWBAT write fractions in simplest form and write equivalent fractions.

  4. What Do You See? Section 4.3 “EQUIVALENT FRACTIONS”

  5. The first of these fractions 1/5 is in SIMPLEST FORM because the numerator and denominator have no common factors. To SIMPLIFY fractions divide the numerator and denominator by common factors.

  6. EQUIVALENT FRACTIONS- two fractions are equivalent if they represent the same quantity. = = A fraction is in SIMPLEST FORM if its numerator and denominator have a greatest common factor of 1.
