  2. Missions The mission of the NFPAis to strengthen the fluid power industry. The mission of the FPDAis to strengthen the partnership between the fluid power distributor and manufacturer. In other words, in the chain that delivers fluid power products to market… FPDAis focused... While NFPAis focused... Both approaches have their advantages. NFPA’s scope is broader than FPDA’s. It brings more stakeholders to the table. FPDA’s scope is more focused than NFPA’s. It supports the fluid power distributor.   3. Strategic Priorities Both organizations pursue a number of strategic priorities in order to fulfill their missions. For NFPA, these strategic priorities are largely external, seeking to shape the marketplace in which its members exist. They include: WORKFORCE Build and connect our members to an educated fluid power workforce. TECHNOLOGY Promote fluid power technology and foster an innovative environment for the fluid power industry.   4. Strategic Priorities Both organizations pursue a number of strategic priorities in order to fulfill their missions. For FPDA, they are largely internal, seeking to shape the forum in which its members learn and connect. They include: EDUCATION Provide education opportunities for the distribution community, including young executives. BENCHMARKING Provide data to help members improve their profitability. STRENGTHEN THE DISTRIBUTOR/MANUFACTURER PARTNERSHIP NETWORKING Serve as a forum for fluid power distributors and manufacturers to enhance their networking and partnership goals. Click to advance

Technology Emphasis • The fluid power industry exists in a changing technological landscape. • Customers have a variety of options for meeting their motion control and power transmission needs: • Hydraulics • Pneumatics • Mechanical • Electric • Or some combination of the above. • In this environment, different manufacturers and distributors have different technology strategies for meeting the needs of the marketplace. • As an organization: • NFPAfocuses on hydraulics and pneumatics. • FPDAfocuses on multiple motion control technologies.
