  1. Adwerthu Ffasiwn - Fashion & Retail Assignment 1 WHAT ARE THE KEY NAMES IN FASHION? What are the key names in fashion clothing? How long have they been around? What does it cost to buy an outfit from them? Who buys their clothes? You are going to use the internet and other sources to find out what you can about some of the key names in fashion. They are important because they have considerable influence on what you can buy in shops. Internet tasks: Look at the following websites: http://www.uknetguide.co.uk/shopping/online_shops/fashion_brands.html Topshop is a major name on the high street. They produce a range of clothing to suit different groups who use their stores. Look at their site: http://www.topshop.co.uk/promostores/tops/index.html?make_live=yes&promo= List some of the different groups they cater for http://oneileurope.com/ What types of clothing do O’Neil specialise in? http://paulsmith.co.uk/ List some different products besides clothing that carry the Paul smith brand . Have a look at the personal section and go to the history – how did Paul Smith get into the fashion business? http://jeanpaul-gaultier.com/ Jean Paul Gaultier has a very creative site and is worth looking at to see how the clothes and accessories are presented. http://www.gucci.com/ Gucci is a very well known designer label. Have a look at the history section – what did Gucci originally specialise in? http://www.hm.com/gb/ H&M are a popular High St name. They have attracted key fashion designers to produce ranges of clothes for them. Look at their website. What are the different trends for the coming season? Where do the different collections get their inspiration from?
