NARIMS is a decision support system, designed and developed to provide support to the Local Governments by working as an aid for achieving good governance and prompt access to detailed and reliable information The system was approved by the cabinet in November 2002 for implementation in all District Information Technology Offices of Pakistan.

Since 2003, NRB has been conducting an annual detailed national survey in the fourth week of December The annual survey relates to membership, secretariat, finance and related activities of the Commission The findings of the annual survey are then analyzed and weak areas highlighted for enforcement/ rectification
