Lead Us Not Into Temptation • When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.  • Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

  4. Deliver Us From Evil • For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do…  O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me? (Rom 7:15,24) • In Christ Jesus, the law of the Spirit of life set me free… (Rom 8:2)

Deliver Us From the Evil One The weeds are the sons of the evil one (Matt 13:38) The evil one deceives and destroys • I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ (2 Cor 11:2-3) • Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone (1 Pet 5:8)

Deliver Us From the Evil One We need the right kind of prayer Jesus prays , “My prayer is not that you take them out of the world, but that you protect them from the evil one” (John 17:15) We pray for ourselves, And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me. (Eph 6:18ff) We pray for one another, “Deliver US from evil”
