  2. ISDN Primary Service Definition ISDN PRI – Local, often considered an “enhanced T1”, provides a high-speed, intelligent connection to the Verizon Business network. ISDN PRI - Local is a digital access technology that supports simultaneous voice and digital data calls over an industry standard primary rate interface T-1. A PRI is comprised of 23 B “Bearer” channels plus one D “data” channel. Each one of these channels provides full clear 64 Kbps capacity, enabling a total transmission speed of up to 1.544 Mbps.

  3. ISDN Primary Local Access Methods & Transport Options Verizon Business offers customers a variety of access methods to customize their ISDN PRI - Local service. PRI service consists of the PRI port and PRI DS1 facility. Frequently, the PRI port and PRI DS1 facility are bundled together. PRI service can be provided as a PRI port only option. The local loop transport can be a variety of high-speed access loops. The alternate higher capacity services must meet DS1 specifications. A DS1 Special Access Line provided to the serving wire center at which the customer obtains ISDN PRI Service will be transmitted with B8ZS Clear Channel Capability per Technical Reference Publication GR-342, Issue 1. Customers may choose one of the following local loop transport options: • ISDN PRI DS1 facility/Digital transport facility, local distribution channel • DS3 • SONET services such as DSR

Standard PRI Tariff Pricing • Offered for Month to Month requests only • Minimal Customer Commitment • This is only quoted in states without term and volume, (T&V), and for month to month contracts. • Month to Month offers are charged NRCs • Minimal or NO term liability agreements, (TLA), (Several states have a 12 month minimum service period.) • NRCs DO apply for month to month agreements. Target Market – Customer with short term requirement w/o commitments.

Target Market – Simplified pricing for PRI service bundles with standard rates across the region.

Target Market – Customer willing to commit to a term for PRIs w/ a predictable usage component. PRI VFR competes w/ Flat Rated PRIs.

The usage is averaged among like lines on all the locations within a state. • Enhanced • Allows non-VFR lines to benefit from the minutes allotted to VFR lines. Potential to get rid of all usage charges, no matter which line has the usage threshold. • Only VZB offers this option. • VFR Flat Rate Option (New!!) • Gives your business the opportunity to convert their VFR into a true flat rate. • At the time of contract signing, you can select an option that will allow the VFR to become a true flat rate on the first anniversary date of the contract. • If you have not exceeded the VFR threshold for the first year, the service will convert to a flat rate for the remainder of the contract. • After the first year your will no longer be subject to the overage charge.
