BACKGROUND: VIDEO PRODUCTION—FIAR 432 Is an Interdisciplinary Fine Arts Course Offered to All Majors through the Department of Arts & Humanities With Special Emphasis on the General Studies Program’s Broad Curricular Orientation. In this Context, Students Are Encouraged to Look for Social Service Agencies that Directly Relate to their Curricular Emphasis Area and to Approach them to Offer Video and Imaging Hardware, Software & Skills To Promote Those Agencies Through Broadcast, Webcast, & Other Social/Media Networks….

LESSONS LEARNED: RELATED DISCIPLINE FIELD PLACEMENTS --Students learn to take Video Production Skills To Social Service Agencies that represent various Non-profit approaches to helping area communities In ways that relate to their majors; --As a result of their field placement, they are tasked to Study and learn the dynamics of their chosen agency To then develop Video and Imaging material that Can be used to promote those agencies through Broadcast, Social-Network, Streamed, Web-Based & other Venues Via Public Service Announcements (PSAs). --The students gain Technology skills along with Hands-On Field Placement “People Skills” preparing them for Real World Work engagements; the Agencies gain Tools for Promoting Their services, as well as possible candidates for Job placements once these skilled students graduate….
