  1. Cub Scouts Pack 543 2013 Holiday Adopt-a-Family Pack 543 has adopted 2 families through the County of Orange Social Services . These local families need our help with gifts and/or monetary donations so that they can have a Christmas they’ll remember. This is an excellent opportunity to teach our children to understand how some families are less fortunate. If possible, please try to gift wrap toys or clothing (but not necessary). For more information, contact Elena Schweppe at eschweppe@sbcglobal.net Deadline for donations is the December 12 Pack Meeting! Family #1 Childrens’ Interests and/or special wishes: Armando likes to play with balls and watch movies--he would like a bike for Christmas. Romeo likes to play with animal toys--he would like Ninja Turtle toys: ninja van, mini ninjas with big heads and a Power Ranger Toy. Information about the family: The childrens’ parents are current drug users so they live with the maternal grandparents who have very little means of support. The home is sparsely furnished, but clean. The grandfather was recently ran over by a car and is at home, where the grandmother is helping him to recover.

Family #2 Childrens’ Interests and/or special wishes: Bella loves Tinkerbell and Hello Kitty. She loves the card game Go Fish and books. Gabriel enjoys soccer, handball and books (currently reading the Goosebump series). Information about the family: This is Gabriel and Isabella's 4th placement w/in one year. Due to circumstances of the families (not the children's fault), they had to be moved. They are now placed w/ their grandmother who has medical issues and as a result, cannot work. She is limited financially with what she can offer to give the children but does fulfill their basic needs and provides a very loving home.
